Specialist Health & Social Care Courses - Level 2

Whether you’re thinking of beginning a career in health or social care, or you’d like to develop on your existing knowledge, our free* specialist courses will equip you with the skills you need. We offer a range of specialist qualifications, with topics spanning mental health, stress, anxiety, autism, dementia, and challenging behavior.

Choose from a Level 2 Certificate in:

  • Mental Health Awareness

  • Nutrition and Health

  • Working with Individuals with Learning Disabilities

  • The Principles of Care Planning

  • Dementia Care

  • End of Life Care

  • Understanding Autism

  • Understanding Challenging Behaviour

  • Understanding Dignity and Safeguarding in Adult Health and Social Care

  • Safe Handling of Medication in Health and Social Care

  • Working with People with Mental Health Needs

After completing any of the above courses, you could progress directly onto an apprenticeship or higher level education. If you are currently working in the health sector, the above qualifications will help you to progress within your career, especially if you wish to become a specialist in your area.

Where: Choose to learn either online or at your choice of classroom locations, with Capital City College Training, Newham College, Havering College or London South East Colleges.

When: These courses will be available from the 28th of January. Courses run regularly on a monthly basis.

Length: 3-6 months.

Classroom type: Online and in-person, for Havering College and Newham College learners will need to attend a one day induction, for Capital City College Training learners - one session per week will be in a classroom.
