Barking & Dagenham College
Barking & Dagenham College is a successful general Further Education college situated within the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, with a mission to “To innovate, to inspire and transform lives through high quality and responsive training for work that leads to economic independence and prosperity.”
The college has been delivering high quality education and training for over 30 years with a strong emphasis on vocational courses building on well-established links with local, regional and national employers. It has a proven track record in successful delivery having been recently graded Good by Ofsted.
The college has over 12,000 learners of whom approximately 2,900 learners aged 16 to 18 attended full time. The college also has approximately 320 learners aged 14-16 of whom 180 were on release from local schools on a range of “Work Related Learning” activities. Some 54% of the college’s enrolments are from Black and Minority Ethnic Groups. There is a 50/50 split in female and male learners. Approximately 5% of learners have identified learning difficulties and 3% have declared disabilities
