Beginners Qualification in English for Health & Social Care

This free* course is suitable for individuals who have recently moved to the UK and/or have no prior knowledge of the English language. Learner’s can expect to improve their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills within the context of topics relevant to the health and social care industry. Topics include cultural issues, work routines, interacting with colleagues, interacting with patients, dealing with problems and the applying for jobs in health and social care. Some units include general lexis/skills development to suit the needs of those who are yet to enter the sector.

Where: This is mainly an online course, although some learning will take place in classrooms at Waltham Forest College.

Start date: March

Length: 12 weeks part-time - 5 hours per week. An 4 week intensive course is also available. There are 45 guided learning hours in this course.

Course type: Blended course delivery, with face to face as well as online options for independent study
