Award for IT Users in Health and Social Care - Level 1

Technology in the care industry is evolving. If you wish to work in health or social care, it’s important to possess some basic digital skills, as you’ll likely be required to undertake digital activities as part of your day-to-day routine. This free* course will help you to gain the confidence needed to work effectively with digital technology in the care industry. Topics include ‘Improving productivity in IT’, ‘Using word processing software’, ‘IT Security’ and ‘IT Communication Fundamentals’.

You will develop a range of skills which are highly valued by employers in the sector.

These skills include:

  • Report writing

  • Effective Communication

  • How to Use Digital Technology

  • Time Management

  • Building Relationships

  • Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Hygiene

  • Working in a Team

Where: Choose to learn either online or at your choice of classroom locations, with Capital City College Training, Newham College, Havering College or London South East Colleges.

When: These courses will be available from the 28th of January. Courses run regularly on a monthly basis.

Length: 3-6 months.

Classroom type: Online and in-person, for Havering College and Newham College learners will need to attend a one day induction, for Capital City College Training learners - one session per week is delivered in a physical classroom at Capital City College Training.
